Mr. Emran worked at the opposite end of the same canvas in the Interest Schemes Section of Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) from 2006 until 2014, processing applications and ensuring compliance for interest schemes.
During the peak of rampant illegal investment schemes, he was assigned as a member in a joint body comprised of several enforcement agencies such as Bank Negara and Suruhanjaya Sekuriti. The goal was to ascertain jurisdictional responsibilities to address this growing white-collar crime and illicit investment activities.
He was also appointed in a committee tasked with drafting the Interest Scheme Act and setting up policy guidelines. On top of that, he was also a speaker for SSM, delivering training sessions internally, and externally.
He transitioned from the public sector by co-establishing Smart Synergy Consultants Sdn Bhd (SSC) which specialised in corporate advisory and conceptualisation of Interest Schemes across various industries. He founded CATALYST Consulting Company in 2020 with several strategic partners to lead Interest Scheme projects.
